And so we begin

I have been thinking about blogging for some time now. It seems that the Church is encouraging bishops and priests to be bloggers; but I just haven’t gotten around to it.

I picked today to begin because we have just celebrated the Beatification of Pope John Paul II.

I knew him personally, and he knew me by name. As a matter of fact, I have the privilege of being the first American to be ordained a priest by Blessed John Paul II. He was always interested in the media and the new electronic ways to spread the Gospel and to keep people informed of the Church’s goings-on. It is because of this that I begin blogging today: to show honor and glory to God by respecting, celebrating and honoring the memory of John Paul II.

Now I shall see if I have done this correctly and it actually appears as a blog!

See you real soon again.

God’s blessings to you.

My first (and probably not last) correction!

Seems that you have to manually teach the blog about what time zone you are blogging from. Hence, the first two posts showed May 2. Hopefully this one will show Sunday evening, May 1.

Oh well, live and learn. Will try to post some more once I can think of something else to post!

God’s blessings on all of you!
